Job Description:
The Global Trade Compliance Manager will lead Joby's Global Trade Compliance Program to ensure compliance with Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and US Customs (CBP) Regulations.
This role involves managing all aspects of the program, including providing guidance and assistance to the business in compliantly achieving tactical and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include classifying technology and goods for import and export, assigning ECCNs and HTS classification, drafting and submitting commodity classification requests, and commodity jurisdiction requests for submission to US BIS and DDTC.
The successful candidate will establish and maintain a classification database for all Joby parts, prepare and file deemed export and technology transfer license applications, as well as technology assistance agreements (TAAs). They will also update and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures, provide internal guidance on import and export regulatory requirements and procedures, and support Joby's subsidiary companies with import and export classification and trade compliance policies.

Requirements:
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in a Trade Compliance role
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in International Trade Law, Government Affairs, Public Policy, Business Management, Aerospace Engineering preferred
- Must be a U.S. Person and have an active secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Wide-ranging and extensive experience and advanced knowledge in ITAR, EAR, and applicable industry practices and standards in import/export compliance related to government contracting
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent writing skills, and very strong attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Aerospace related technical discipline
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) in active standing
Compensation:
The target base pay for this position is $131,000 - $243,000/year. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
