About the Role:
Joe Bland Construction, LLC is a civil general contractor in Central Texas. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, collaboration, and client satisfaction. As we continue to expand, we are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to join our team to help streamline our contract management processes and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards. The Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting our team within the construction industry, focusing on the preparation and management of legal documents related to construction contracts and vendor agreements. The Paralegal will be responsible for reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
As a Contract Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, reviewing, and maintaining contracts between the company and its clients, as well as subcontracts with vendors, and partners. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of contract law, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with the AR Manager, and various internal departments to ensure contract compliance and smooth execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in construction law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, as well as subcontracts with vendors.
- Ensure all contracts are legally compliant, accurate, and aligned with company policies.
- Coordinate with internal departments (project managers and upper management) to ensure smooth contract workflows.
- Assist in resolving any contract-related disputes or issues.
- Communicate with external vendors, and clients to clarify contract terms and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all contracts/subcontracts and related documents.
- Provide support in contract audits and reporting.
- Prepare and send approved quotes (Exhibit W’s) for project manager approval and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Prepare, process, and track subcontract change orders to ensure they are properly documented and executed.
- Prepare and issue Job Information Sheets and TEC (Tax Exempt Certificates) forms for relevant subcontracting activities.
- Ensure compliance with TXDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) requirements, including the preparation and submission of TXDOT 2802 Forms
- Perform a thorough review of the TXDOT Spec Book checklists for subcontracts related to Federal-Aid Projects.
- Prepare, send, and save signed Progress and Final Payment Waivers for subcontractors, ensuring timely submission and archiving.
- Assist with the review of construction and vendor contracts.
- Conduct legal research to support ongoing cases and provide insights on relevant legal precedents.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather information and facilitate communication.

The required skills in construction contracts and vendor contracts will be utilized daily to ensure that all agreements are legally sound and beneficial for our clients. Document review skills will be critical in identifying key information and ensuring that all materials are accurate and complete.
