Bilingual Logistics Supervisor - Overnight Shift
We are seeking career-minded, experienced, and dependable team members for the position of Bilingual Logistics Supervisor. The ideal candidate will work independently, think quickly, and possess excellent customer service and computer skills.
- Job Summary
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of transportation for our live haul operations, including scheduling, live ducks, eggs and baby ducklings. The team member is required to participate in weekly schedule planning meetings and to work with the live operations team and production scheduler to ensure birds are getting to the plant on time.
- Essential Job Functions
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Planning, scheduling, and coordinating transportation for bird processing with no plant down time while maximizing driver and loaders’ hours availability.
· Provide leadership through counseling, consulting, communication, and direction to live haul drivers and loaders of acceptable practices and Company policies and procedures.
· Coordinate and supervise daily activities of live haul drivers and loaders, including route assignments, vehicle assignments, deliveries, and pick-ups.
· Directly responsible for the development, training, job rotation, and evaluations for all hourly team members.
· Occasional farm visits to ensure loading of trucks is going according to planned.
· Maintain all safety and compliance documentation to include tractor and trailer registrations and perform quarterly audits on pre and post trip vehicle inspections.
· Schedule and plan maintenance intervals for all live haul and commercial hatchery delivery vehicles and equipment.
· Order all live transportation supplies including weight slips, fuel disbursement slips, logbooks, DVIR books, scale printer ribbon, DEF, anti-freeze, engine oil, and 5th wheel grease.
· Responsible for processing weekly live haul driver payroll.
· Monitor and audit weigh slips inbound and outbound for accuracy.
· The ability to immediately become a certified weigh master, coordinate service and calibration of weigh scale. Keep scale and scale house clean and orderly.
· Coordinate new driver training and conduct safety training for new and existing drivers.
· Ensure compliance with Bio Security and Animal Welfare Practices.
· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
· Report any Animal Welfare related issues to upper management immediately.
· Report any Food Safety related issues to upper management immediately.
· Report any damage to company equipment immediately.
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance as scheduled.
· Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Minimum Required Qualifications
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
· Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred.
· Bi-Lingual required (Spanish).
· Minimum 2 years of demonstrated supervisory experience in live haul transportation, food industry preferred.
· Advanced understanding of planning and coordination of scheduling and production needs.
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required; CDL Class A preferred.
· Strong leadership ability with customer service awareness.
· Basic knowledge of live haul transportation equipment.
· Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
· Advanced personal computer skills: Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload, with a strong attention to detail.
· Outstanding communication skills.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to independently make decisions with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work off hour shifts.
· Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Physical Demands
The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Must be able to crouch and squat for pre and post trip inspections.
· The ability to move 50 pounds alone and 80 pounds with assistance constantly.
· Ability to work in wide range of working conditions including, office, warehouse and production floors.
· Must be able enter/exit equipment by stepping, climbing or kneeling.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
