What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cellar Operations Coordinator position at Joel Gott Wines?
The Cellar Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the winemaking team at Joel Gott Wines. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the fruit arrivals and fermentations at our two facilities in the Dundee area. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring the quality and consistency of our premium Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir production for the 2025 vintage.
Key responsibilities include managing the initial grape receival, crushing, additions, and other vital aspects of wine production. You will also be required to distribute samples and products between facilities as needed, enter analysis results into our winemaking database and Excel spreadsheets, collect grape samples, and perform Brix and pH analysis on vineyard samples.
In addition to these tasks, you will be expected to assist in processing juice samples for analysis and tasting, data entry of sample results and field notes, and provide detailed documentation of your findings. A high level of organizational skill and ability to multitask will be essential in this role.
To succeed in this position, you will need a solid understanding of cellar and winemaking practices, a degree in Viticulture & Enology or a similar Science field (or currently pursuing one), previous lab/harvest experience, and proficiency in MS Excel
