As a Winemaker Assistant Director at Joel Gott Wines, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our winemaking strategies. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the fruit arrivals and fermentations at our two facilities in the Dundee area, ensuring that our premium Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir production meets the highest standards for quality and consistency.
You will be responsible for sampling vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley to assess maturity and record field observations. In addition, you will manage the distribution of samples and products between facilities, enter analysis results into our winemaking database and Excel spreadsheets, collect grape samples, and perform Brix and pH analysis on vineyard samples.
Your ability to analyze data, think critically, and communicate effectively will be crucial in this role. You will also need to demonstrate a high level of organization and time management skills, as well as the capacity to work long hours, including weekends.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in viticulture and enology, a degree in a related field (or currently pursuing one), previous lab/harvest experience, and proficiency in MS Excel.
