Joey's Wynwood Café is looking for a dynamic and experienced Server/Host(ess) to join our vibrant team at our beautiful Wynwood location.
In this dual role, you will be key in the front-of-house greeting experience and the guest dining journey. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact—welcoming guests warmly, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating flow. As a Server, you'll deliver attentive, knowledgeable service and create memorable dining experiences from start to finish.

Compensation:
$9.98 |an hour, plus tips & gratuities
$15.00 | an hour as a Host (ess)
Server| Host (ess) Essential Functions:
- Warmly greet guests and make them feel welcome upon arrival.
- Manage waitlists and reservations with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a smooth seating rotation to ensure optimal table flow.
- Communicate guest preferences or special requests to servers and kitchen staff.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area.
- Guide guests through the menu with confidence, including both standard and unique items and their ingredients.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of cocktail and wine service.
- Take accurate orders and input them into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the shift.
- Follow proper accounting procedures when handling checks and payments.
- Provide a warm and professional table experience, handling special requests with care.
- Assist with bussing, food running, or other support roles as needed.
- Prepare garnishes and restock cream, butter, salt, and pepper.
- Stock and separate linens, glassware, and silverware.
- Maintain front- and back-of-house cleanliness and organization.
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Attend all required team meetings and training sessions.
- Support team goals through cross-training and flexibility in duties.
Requirements
- Food Safety Certification.
- Safe Alcohol Vendor Certification.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A minimum of six months to one year of prior experience in a comparable hospitality or customer-facing role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with service standards and guest interaction best practices.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, including during high-volume shifts.
- Previous experience as a Server and/or Host/Hostess in a high-volume restaurant
- A warm, welcoming presence and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent multitasking, organization, and communication abilities
- A team-oriented mindset and a passion for hospitality
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
