Job Summary:
Part of a team of Garage Mechanics that perform preventative maintenance, repairs and inspections on a fleet of trailers, yard tractors, and over-the-road tractors. Responsible for maintaining repair records and parts inventory in Garage, and for documenting parts required.

Responsibilities
- Ability to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on: Brakes (ABS), Wheels, Tires, Starters, Suspensions, Drive Belts, Hoses, Ignition Systems, Computer Codes, Turbos, Noises and Emissions.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, lubricating equipment, fluid changes.
- Ability to drive a yard jockey tractor to move trailers between yard and garage.
- Ability to diagnose and repair ThermoKing refrigeration units on trailers.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues on transport equipment.
- Knowledge and skillset required to complete DOT inspections on trailers.

Mon - Fri 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Qualifications
- Technical training and certifications in areas of mechanical, refrigeration, electrical and welding
- Welding skills documented via certification or evidence of work experience
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
- Sufficient base tools to perform duties
- Knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
- Track record of workplace safety
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required to interact with other Garage Mechanics and management
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Work experience satisfactory to JFI hiring manager(s)
