Johanson Technology Inc. (JTI) is looking for an IT Support Specialist for the Camarillo, CA office.
JTI has over thirty years' experience specializing in the design, manufacture and sales of high-quality Power and RF ceramic chip capacitors, inductors, and Integrated Passive Components into the global electronics market.
Hourly Rate (Non-Exempt): $26.00 - $31.00
Work Schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Monday thru Friday

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least two (2) years of IT support in an environment that uses Microsoft 365 and includes troubleshooting Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- At least two (2) years of experience troubleshooting, upgrading, and replacing computer hardware components.
- At least one (1) year of experience configuring networked devices to be used on a TCP/IP network.
- At least one (1) year of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
- Configuring apps and working with advanced settings on smartphone OSes such as iOS and Android.
- Proficiency in documenting support activities, incident reports, and solutions for future reference.
Preferred Education And Experience:
- An Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Knowledge of data backup and recovery procedures, including familiarity with backup software, data restoration, and best practices for backing up different types of data.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python for automating routine IT tasks.
- Possession of relevant IT certifications such as Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (Exam MS-900), and Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (Exam SC-300).
- Configuring and deploying Avaya VOIP desk phones.
- Supporting IT equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
- Take an active role in basic cloud administration tasks for our users, including managing Microsoft Entra ID users and groups, Exchange online mailboxes and groups, and Sharepoint site users and groups.
- Assist senior IT Administrators with basic administration tasks such as purchases, updates, backups, troubleshooting and server maintenance.
- Closely follow IT documentation for basic System Administration, Cloud Administration, and Network Administration procedures to ensure that all important tasks are completed in detail.
- Proactively complete daily, weekly, and monthly job duties such as reviewing the status of server backups, following up with Helpdesk tickets, and reviewing endpoint security alerts.
- Assist senior IT project managers with projects including rolling out new IT services, and decommissioning outdated IT services.
- Install, troubleshoot, configure, and deploy various networked devices, including printers, VOIP phones, and managed switches.
- Cut, crimp, and deploy ethernet cables from patch panels to wall mounts and, ultimately, to networked devices.
- Configure and troubleshoot VPN client software to enable our users to access network resources securely over a VPN.
- Assist remote users with IT issues using software such as Ninja and FixMe.IT.
- Work with Human Resources and department managers to assist with the onboarding and offboarding of employees including user administrative tasks, mailbox configuration, and the configuration of various IT services.
- Manage Helpdesk tickets, including collecting relevant information and escalating issues as required.
- Configure and troubleshoot mobile smartphones running Android and iOS.
- Setup and configure workstations, troubleshoot computer hardware, purchase new workstation equipment, and keep track our inventory of IT assets.
- Use Hudu, Microsoft 365 office applications, Teams site resources, and other software to contribute to IT documentation, inventories, and IT user training documentation.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain factory machine computers including legacy systems running Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000.
Attributes and Skills:
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networks and the ability to troubleshoot network issues from the client side.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, including Users, Groups, Roles, and Devices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, covering Mailboxes, Groups, and Contacts.
- Clear and professional communication, with the ability to effectively interact with users, supervisors, and managers, both technical and non-technical.
- Strong ability to work independently and proactively on projects, tickets, and assignments.
- Ability to effectively work with CoPilot AI to improve productivity, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Proficiency in following IT procedures, ensuring the accurate completion of tickets and assignments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10, 11, and Office 365, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- A good grasp of computer hardware components, including CPUs, RAM, motherboards, and storage devices, along with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize hardware for performance.
