What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller - Lumber Manufacturer position at John A Biewer Co Inc.?
Biewer Lumber is looking fill a full-time, Controller position in our St. Clair office to manage the finance and accounting department for our parent company and multiple operating companies.
Accountabilities:
- Manage the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a system of internal controls adequate to ensure the protection of corporate assets.
- Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Provide optimal internal and external communications and teamwork.
Areas of Responsibility include: General ledger accounting | Accounts Payable | Financial Reporting (internal and external) | Budgeting (Operating and Capex) | Credit and Accounts Receivable | Bank Account Reconciliation | Compliance | Federal and State Income Taxes | Cost Accounting
Pay:
- Pay will commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Five (5) years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.
- Manufacturing experience or public accounting experience with manufacturing a plus.
- Ability to maintain ethical, confidential, and sensitive material in a highly professional manner.
- Superior interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
