Description:
The Administrative Assistant II position provides support for staff in the Student Development office who manage student clubs and organizations, advise the honor society and student government, and oversee student co-curricular programming, including leadership development and student activities. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented and possess a strong ability to track budgets, handle purchasing, and arrange event logistics and travel for office staff and student clubs and organizations. The position requires tactful and responsive communication with students, faculty, staff, and the general public and proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams and the ability to learn new technology. The ideal candidate will enthusiastically anticipate and address the needs of Student Development staff and contribute to a positive and productive work environment. This position may assist other Student Affairs offices, depending on availability and at the discretion of the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
An associate’s degree from an accredited institution or 1 – 3 years of experience in an office setting.
Essential Functions & Position Duties
- Performs basic receptionist duties (answering phones, greeting visitors, directing calls, etc.)
- Maintains files (both electronic and hard copy)
- Data entry
- Maintains confidential and sensitive information
- Processes requisitions
- Works with budgets
- Coordinates and attends meetings as appropriate; prepares and distributes minutes
- Interface with college-restricted software systems
- Supervisory duties (Student Workers)
Non-essential functions of the position
- Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

Salary: Starting range $17.00-$17.50/hr.
