A local health system in Memphis is seeking a Behavioral Health Crisis Assessor to join their team immediately. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating patients who require behavioral health assessments in the Emergency Department (ED), as well as addressing concerns identified by healthcare professionals in inpatient and community settings. The role involves coordinating with hospital and community providers to ensure effective communication and facilitate patient-centered care, promoting optimal transitions and progression in care.
Key responsibilities include coordinating and collaborating with patients, caregivers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare management team. The candidate should model appropriate behavior in alignment with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of related experience, including at least two years in an inpatient or acute care setting. Experience in crisis assessment and evidence-based interventions in a hospital or primary healthcare environment is essential. The role also requires expertise in crisis stabilization, particularly with substance use disorders, as well as knowledge of therapy and counseling principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating mental health and substance use disorders.
Credentials required for this position include one of the following:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Tennessee
- Licensed Professional Counselor / Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Psychologist.
The shifts are 12 hour shifts to include every other weekend - 36 hours a week/72 hours a pay period.
Day shift is 7a-7pm and night shift 7p-7am are both available.

Pay: $99,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
