Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will work nights, possess a strong clinical background, and demonstrate excellent patient care skills. This role involves working closely with patients undergoing various medical and surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their stay. The unit has 42 beds with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6. Average daily census of 24 - 36 patients. This opportunity offers a strong support staff, self scheduling and so much more. Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including vital signs and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical history.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Perform specialized procedures such as gastric lavage, cardiac catheterization, and catheter care.
- Maintain accurate medical records, documenting patient progress and any changes in condition.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and relevant workers' compensation laws.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
