Seasonal Human Resources Assistant
SUMMARY
The Seasonal HR Assistant will provide support to the HR team with daily tasks and special projects. The HR Assistant will work in all areas of HR functions such as staffing, onboarding, benefits administration, training, safety, and HR compliance.
This position is a seasonal position, working anywhere from 30-40 hours per week. Schedule will be flexible, generally working Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with some occasional evening or Saturday work. This is an in-person position is entirely on site.
Pay Rate: 14.25 an hour.
Within this role, you will be part of the team that works with employees and the business every day to help the John Ball Zoo be a successful non-profit and an accredited AZA Zoo. You will have the opportunity to assist with all HR functions and be part of the 400 employees that work together to make the John Ball Zoo a great place to be. You will have opportunities for direct impact on our conservation efforts, behind the scenes insights, special events, and more, all while working with an incredible team of dedicated HR professionals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Affinity for the mission and values of John Ball Zoo.
- Must be detail oriented, accurate, and able to edit and proofread your own work.
- Must be reliable, confidential, and comfortable working with many different teams and individuals using great customer service.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office and comfortable with technology and learning new software.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Actively pursuing a degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Past experience in an administrative role, ideally within HR or a related field preferred.
