SUMMARY
This position will assist with the preparation of financial reports, support month-end close processes, and act as a backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This role is ideal for someone looking to start their career in accounting and gain valuable experience in a manufacturing environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and adjusting financial data.
- Serve as a backup for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- AP: Assist with invoice verification, vendor payments, and resolving discrepancies.
- AR: Assist with invoicing customers, posting customer payments, and managing collections as needed.
- Assist with reconcile bank and general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial records.
- Maintain financial data and support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations, procurement, and sales, to support cross-functional financial needs.Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve financial reporting efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (Salary commensurate with experience and education.)
- Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (experience with ERP systems is as plus).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or experience in accounting/finance, particularly in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
