John Boos & Co. , a trusted provider of high-quality, performance driven equipment and workspaces that have inspired home cooks, chefs and foodservice industry workers for generations, is accepting applications for a full-time Warehouse Laborer in our Distribution Center.
Summary
Responsible for efficiently handling various tasks to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the warehouse.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, pack and prepare orders for shipment based on provided packing lists and/or digital order management systems.
2. Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, inspecting and verifying incoming goods against purchase orders or invoices. Help organize and maintain inventory storage by shelving, stacking and categorizing items. Keep track of stock levels and communicate low stock or discrepancies to Warehouse Supervisor.
3. Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload trucks, containers, or delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks or hand carts. Ensure that products are handled with care to prevent damage during transportation.
4. Warehouse Maintenance: Keep warehouse clean, organized and hazard-free. Arrange materials to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Follow proper waste disposal procedures and adhere to safety regulations.
5. Material Handling: Move goods within the warehouse using appropriate equipment and techniques.
6. Quality Control: Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing products to ensure they meet company standards. Report any damaged or defective products.
7. Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain records related to inventory, shipments and other warehouse activities. Utilize computer systems and software for data entry and tracking purposes.
8. Health & Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper handling of materials, operation of equipment, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
Education & Training
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Forklift Certification Preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly
- Basic math and computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
- Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks
- Knowledge of safety regulations
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to Stand 8 Hours/Day
- Lifting up to 50 Lbs.
- Bending, Reaching, Turning, Twisting
