Job Summary:
- The primary responsibility of this position is pharmacy inventory maintenance.
- Will include maintaining pharmacy item master, charging and pharmacy equipment.
- Will be an active participant in the medication error reduction plan.
- Assist pharmacist on various 340b program tasks.
- Will perform a variety of clerical and non-professional patient care duties to support the pharmacy department up to and including medication transport and errands as assigned.
Essential Skills:
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Ability to operate, with accuracy, modern office equipment and software, including Microsoft Office Suite programs. (Office, excel, and power point)
- Ability to maintain files and records.
- Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, and/or graphic instructions.
- Ability to accurately perform basic math, including addition, subtraction multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to interact with the public in a professional and positive manner.
- Understanding of and ability to use proper body mechanics to prevent injury to self or others.
- Ability to document accurate and legible patient records.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of your duties.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and preserve patients’ rights.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Ability to multi-task working in multiple units of the healthcare district.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate from an accredited school Pharmacy Technician program.
- Valid California Driver’s License and auto insurance.
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year pharmacy technology experience, preferably in an Inpatient/Hospital environment.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations:
- CPhT – Pharmacy Technician Certification
- California Driver’s License
