POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Marine Estimator with at least 3 years of marine estimating or related shipbuilding experience. The candidate will complete detailed cost estimates, gather and analyze technical, cost, and schedule data from various stakeholders in the supply chain, interpret drawings, specifications, and other relevant documentation, and collaborate closely with engineering, planning, program management, and operations support teams during proposal development.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of marine estimating or related shipbuilding experience
- Familiarity with different estimating methodologies and the US Navy Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS) is desired
SKILLS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel
- Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and specifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and relevant Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation to support detailed estimate and proposal development
- Gather and analyze technical, cost, and schedule data from various stakeholders in the supply chain
- Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, program management, and operations support teams during proposal development
- Utilize different estimating methodologies and apply knowledge of the US Navy Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS)
- Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or miles from the assigned office location
- Occasional travel may be required
- The performance of the required job duties will be at the ship yard along with visits to the main office which may include various weather conditions.
