Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- A minimum of 3 years of full or part-time experience in event and facility management, programming, and/or managing multi-faceted projects
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate with both internal and external constituents in a positive and professional manner
- Demonstrated ability to administer a budget and provide personnel training to meet the needs of the recreation facility management and conference operations
- Active American Red Cross CPR / AED and First-Aid certifications or the willingness to become certified upon hire
- Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll’s mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world
- Master’s Degree in sports management, higher education, or business administration
- Higher education and collegiate campus experience
- Experience working with external conferences on a college campus
- Experience with the management of recreation facilities
- Awareness of professional standards and trends
- Assist the Director of Recreation in the management of all aspects of the RecPlex; Athletics, Wellness, & Events Center; and Johnson Natatorium operations including facility management, event and staff scheduling, risk management, policy and procedure development, and equipment purchasing, inventory, and maintenance
- Hire, train, schedule, manage, and evaluate student employees including approximately 20 facility supervisors and 50 facility attendants
- Coordinate and execute all internal recreation facility reservations for the campus community
- Coordinate the use of recreational spaces for external camps, conferences, and events
- Oversee all aspects of student, faculty/staff, alumni, and community membership sales
- Act as primary liaison for the InnoSoft Fusion recreation management software
- Work directly with campus partners and third-party vendors to ensure facility cleanliness, equipment functionality, and execution of contracted services
- Assist with budget oversight for all recreation facilities, programs, and services
- Collaborate with students and Student Experience and Campus Belonging division colleagues to develop programming that focuses on wellness and recreation
- Collaborate with the Student Engagement staff to enhance student-facing programming
- Serve as a co-advisor to recognized student organizations whose missions center on wellness and physical activity
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Recreation
