Job Description
Under the direction and guidance of the Operations Manager, the Quality Manager will plan, coordinate and manage the development and implementation of all aspects of the Company Quality Assurance Program. This role requires seasoned knowledge and experience with a hand on approach combined with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Prioritize and manage QA department activities and workload to support the strategic goals of the company.
- Maintenance and improvement of our ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 management systems.
- Develop metrics and scorecard to guide improvement efforts.
- Review and action customer complaints and inquiries.
- Lead corrective action process to ensure that identified causes are adequately addressed.
- Lead problem solving and root cause identification efforts.
- Lead new product qualifications for both product performance and manufacturability.
- Lead continuous improvement teams using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Expert in the application of Lean and Six Sigma including the following tools: Value Stream Mapping, Cpk/Ppk, GR&R, SPC, Control Plans, Sampling Plans, Kaizen, 5S, Statistical Analysis, SMED, 5 why’s, Root Cause analysis, VOC, QFD, Error Proofing, Robust Design, FMEA, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, etc.
- Support Supplier Qualification and issue resolution.
- Host customers during audits and visits.
- Additional duties as assigned.
EHS REQUIREMENTS:
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
- Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
- Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
- Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Preferred)
- Experience in Auditing (CQA preferred)
- Minimum 5 – 10 years’ experience leading a Quality Assurance team in a manufacturing setting.
- Must have solid understand of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 management systems. Certification as Internal Auditor or Lead Assessor preferred.
- Experience with 10 CFR 50 and NQA.
- Must be an expert in Lean and Six Sigma usage with hands on experience.
- SSMBB, SSBB certification required. Be prepared to discuss your certification process.
- ASQ Certifications Preferred – CQM, CQA, CQE
- Must have had supervisory responsibility and a comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures.
Salary Range:
$98,000 through $148,000 USD (depending on experience)
