Job Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Inspector for diesel engines and machining to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards specific to diesel engine assembly and machining processes. The Quality Inspector will collaborate closely with production teams to identify areas for improvement and ensure strict adherence to quality protocols.
Responsibilities
- Work independently on issues from start to finish until resolved.
- Identify and proactively address potential quality and warranty liabilities.
- Train and certify operators before they can work unsupervised.
- Document departmental problems and summarize resolution actions.
- Perform scheduled material inspections as directed by supervision.
- Address quality concerns for materials outside process specifications.
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with documented procedures.
- Review process documentation for availability to production operators.
- Generate reports on audit results to highlight trends in non-conformance and other liabilities.
- Issue Quality Alerts for process changes and ensure timely completion and traceability.
- Verify First Piece checks are completed by each shift and setup change.
- Investigate temporary deviation requests and maintain documentation.
- Disposition Initial Sample Inspection Reports.
- Create and manage SAP Q-NOTES.
- Audit newly released product lines as part of the PRODUCT AUDIT process.
- Monitor and manage non-conforming materials in the engine line.
- Maintain defect work areas monthly to balance material flow.
- Disposition received RSO materials.
- File engine responsibility cards.
Skills
- Basic understanding of engine assembly and machining practices.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently or collaboratively to accomplish tasks.
- Energetic, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Capable of communicating quality concerns and deficiencies while maintaining respectful relationships with colleagues.
- Familiarity with SAP transactions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints is essential.
- Proficient in reading and understanding precise measuring instruments.
- Extensive knowledge of quality principles related to diesel engines, fuel systems, and electrical systems theory.
- While some training is provided within the company, the individual should be prepared to attend off-site training as well.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.18 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
