This role focuses on major mechanical systems such as engines, transmissions, drive-trains and hydraulics. Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulics
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and other heavy line vehicles
• Inspect, adjust, and replace major components such as clutches, engine blocks, and powertrain units
• Conduct road tests to ensure repairs meet performance standards
• Use diagnostic tools and software to trouble shoot and resolve issues efficiently.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that guests are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Adhere to safety standards and comply with Federal and State regulations.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a heavy line or diesel technician
• Knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Experience with diagnostic tools and repair software
• Commercial Driver’s License preferred along with a clean motor vehicle record
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write reports and correspondence
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
