- Diagnose and repair heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulics
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and other heavy line vehicles
- Inspect, adjust, and replace major components such as clutches, engine blocks, and powertrain units
- Conduct road tests to ensure repairs meet performance standards
- Use diagnostic tools and software to trouble shoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that guests are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- Adhere to safety standards and comply with Federal and State regulations.
- 5 years of experience as a heavy line or diesel technician
- Knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Experience with diagnostic tools and repair software
- Commercial Driver’s License preferred along with a clean motor vehicle record
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
- Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
