Job Description:**
The professional nurse in critical care plays a vital role in the nursing process, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care.
This requires considering the patient s physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, language barriers, age, teaching needs, and readiness to learn.
The nurse must also involve the interdisciplinary team in the plan of care and patient intervention, using critical thinking skills in daily practice.
Responsibilities:**
- Cares for two (2) critically ill patients independently
- Masters most 1:1 acuity patients
- Cares for patients on a ventilator
- Understands basic dysrhythmia and hemodynamic status of the patient
- Correlates readings to the care of the patient
- Assists with bedside procedures
- Administers medications prescribed by the physician according to policy
Work Schedule:
Hours: 12hrs
Shift: 0700-1930
Schedule: 6 shifts per 2 week pay period. Some weekends required.
