What are the responsibilities and job description for the 4th Grade General Instructional Assistant position at John F Kennedy?
JFK Elementary School is looking for 4th Grade General Educational Instructional Assistant. The position will be working directly with all 4th grade students and teachers to support and enhance students' learning. Successful experience working with diverse student populations is preferred but not required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required Qualifications:
Work with 4th-grade students and teachers
Support students as directed by the classroom or collaborating teacher.
Collaborate with the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing learning based on an understanding of students, their needs, abilities, and interests.
Collaborate with the teacher in organizing the physical environment of the room.
Organize instructional materials with support from the teacher.
Report any pertinent information or insights gained about students and instruction to the classroom and collaborating teachers.
Reinforce classroom and school expectations
Substitute for a 4th-grade teacher when they are absent.
Participate in district and school-specific professional development
Provide a nurturing environment for all students through positive acknowledgment and encouragement.
Help with testing and record keeping as assigned by the collaborating teacher.
Adhere to strict confidentiality.
All other duties as assigned by the school principal.

Understanding the Science of Reading
Training and/or experience with EL Education Language Arts Curriculum
Training and/or experience with Imagine Math
Training and/or experience with Multilingual Learners and implementing inclusion practices
Training and/or experience with Special Education inclusion practices
