We are hiring for a FIRST SHIFT - Line Lead in our Packaging Department
Hours are : 5 : 30am - 2 : 30pm (with some mandatory OT)
Line Leader is responsible for assisting the supervisor of the Packaging Department in overseeing the production team's activities. Will provide to supervisor with input on employee's counseling and performance evaluations. Additionally, will assist the supervisor with the day-to-day production process, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Primary responsibility is to ensure that the staff meets their production, quality and safety goals. In the absence of the department supervisor, Leader will assume their duties.
- Responsible for assisting the supervisor on all operational & safety-related functions of company equipment & machinery such as the bagger, VC999, Shrink Tunnel, Peeler, Roll stock, Grasselli Slicers, Spiral Slicers, Band Saw, Cubing Machine, Box Tapers, Metal Detectors, Scales, Pallet Jacks, & other production-related machinery.
- Must be consistent & reliable in attendance.
- Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understand all aspects of company recipes.
- Must have the ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations to management and other team members of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, and deal with problems.
- Must be able to work / train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.
- Must be able to engage and motivate the production team while setting a professional example.
- Must be able to report to management staff safety, quality, productivity, and attendance issues from employees.
- Operate machinery & plan staff scheduling / rotation / tasks.
- Report plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.
