As a non-profit community hospital, Fitzgibbon Hospital is vital to the health and well-being of the communities it serves in the Marshall, MO and surrounding area. We are looking for a self-driven compassionate Housekeeping Technician to join our Environmental Services team at our Hospital and Clinics. We offer a competitive salary and benefit package
A Housekeeping Technician:
- Cleans patient rooms; duties including but are not limited to: disinfecting all surfaces, emptying trash, cleaning of sinks, counter areas, shower and toilet, dusting, mopping and vacuuming, restocking paper products, changing bedding and shampooing the carpet.
- Disinfects all public areas duties including but are not limited to: sinks, toilets, washing walls, damp mop, damp disinfecting all areas, disinfecting handrails, replacement of blinds and shampooing carpets, buffing or waxing of floors in areas where needed.
- Follows proper procedure for separating regular waster versus bio hazardous waste and storage of clean and dirty linens.
- Cleans Ancillary areas duties including but are not limited to: vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, trash disposal, damp disinfecting.
Shift:
- Full-Time - 80 hours every two weeks
- 4:30pm - 1:00am
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent - preferred
- Prior experience in environmental services or housekeeping - preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Demands
The Environmental Service Technician must be able to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, and perform repetitive motions. They must also be able to work in environments with exposure to cleaning chemicals and biohazardous materials.
Work Environment
The Environmental Service Technician will primarily work in healthcare facilities, such as hospitals and clinics. They may also work in other settings, such as long-term care facilities or schools.
