Public Relations Representative

John Force Racing is looking for a Public Relations Representative to manage the operational PR, media, and marketing activities for its team competing in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing series. The ideal candidate is someone with prior experience working within sports and event public relations, with experience developing and leading media relations efforts in sports and entertainment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement team communications strategy in collaboration with JFR marketing team.
- Serve as the primary contact for all communications needs for John Force Racing.
- Compose and distribute press releases and post-race recaps.
- Create and distribute media kits and other materials to promote company news and events ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Write and edit various forms of content including press releases, blog posts, speeches, presentations, social media copy.
- Manage all aspects of media relations, including building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets and managing requests for media interviews with John Force Racing personnel including drivers.
- Conduct research to support PR initiatives and provide insight
- Coordinate and schedule all team/driver PR commitments.
- Serve as the primary liaison for all NHRA Marcoms requests, planning and activities. Will work in tandem with JFR marketing team to plan activities.
- Coordination and execution of team communications strategy for:
- Testing
- Race Events
- Crisis Management
- Coordinate team photography and video production in collaboration with other marketing team members from JFR, as well as corporate partners.
- Oversee at-track duties related to driver and media scheduling, providing winner’s circle/post-race support, and executing crisis management plans when applicable.
- Assist in maintaining stats, race notes, archives.
- Support leadership, management, driver handling, and logistics on the ground/at the racetrack.
- Work closely within the broader marketing team and other team departments as assigned.
- Support ideation, development, and posting of team social media content from race events when applicable.
- Attend race events, media appearances, and other team commitments, including but not limited to test sessions and partner functions/events.
- Be an adaptable team player in all situations, including performing other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least three years of experience with a team, brand, or agency within motorsports, sports & entertainment, or media industry.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Experience with WordPress website, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Self-starter and highly motivated to succeed with a positive attitude.
- Ability to interact with internal and external leadership, members of the media
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously with exceptional level of organization and attention to detail, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well with others in a cross-functional team environment.
- Required to travel approximately 25 weekends (NHRA race events, shows, meetings, etc.); typically, Thursday through Monday race weekends with some weekday travel for meetings, appearances, etc.
