Head cashier/host
John G's is a Landmark Breakfast and Lunch restaurant for over 50 years . We are a high volume fast pace restaurant and are hiring for a motivated , dependable , good energy and experienced cashier/Hostess/to go specialist and experience in serving and breakfast is recommended . We are open 7 days from 8am to 3pm , so this is a day time job , we have 4/5 days available for the right person . Working week ends are required .
This head cashier/host position requires some leadership or management experience as you will act as supervisor in the absence of the restaurant manager .
Head Host/Cashier
Duties:
- closing duties , batch and cash reconciliation
- Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and positive attitude
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure guest satisfaction
- Seat guests and manage the waitlist efficiently
- Answer phone calls and send orders
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/cashier station
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management
Experience:
- Extended experience in a restaurant as cashier , host or to go specialist is required
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure
- Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service best practices
