Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels for John H. Carter Company, Inc.
The successful candidate will work closely with Product Managers to select the appropriate inventory to order and monitor slow, dead, and excess inventory.
Effective communication with senior management and other managers throughout the company is essential.
This role requires a steady work habit at all times.
The employee must demonstrate the ability to remain focused on work with multiple interruptions daily.
In addition, this position can be demanding in terms of time management, knowledge, skills, and commitment to complete tasks daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Selects inventory to stock with assistance from Managers
- Determines order quantities using detailed historic data
- Evaluates discount opportunities when purchasing
- Generates new purchase orders to meet ordering requirements
- Tracks purchase orders and deals with delivery and stock issues
- Assists Managers with monitoring and evaluation of slow, dead, and excess inventory
- Participates in periodic inventory counts and annual full physical count
- Maintains job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks
- Reviews special orders with purchasing agents
