What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pressure Relief Valve Technician position at John H. Carter Company?
Job Details
- Perform repair receiving write-up process manually and electronically including:
• Read, interpret, and respond accordingly to MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) information
• Identify valves and accessories
• Translate valve information from tag to write-up form and include any customer specific requests
• Perform data entry in the electronic valve tracking system (GVT) including status updates and history searches
• Perform visual inspections to identify items that are obviously non-repairable based on criteria such as cycle time and physical characteristics
• Initiate work ticket within the sales order system
• Take digital pictures and electronically transfer into the ERP system network folder
• Safely pretest valves
• Safely disassemble and clean valves and parts per QCP and OEM specifications:
• Mark parts correctly and maintain organization and segregation
• Perform glass bead / steel shot blasting while understanding what can/cannot be blasted
• Perform chemical solvent cleaning
• Perform HF acid neutralizing
• Evaluate parts and maintain material awareness including:
• Perform inspection of parts and evaluate critical dimension requirements
• Identify and utilize manufacturers’ nomenclature (i.e., literature including IOM, inspection criteria, part numbers, and model numbers)
• Identify materials using approved PMI method, alloy analyzer, material markings, material standards, etc. including report completion
• Complete travelers including date, sign-off, status, etc. - Duties and Responsibilities can change from time to time based on business needs, customer demands or other industry or job-related circumstances
