Job Overview
As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. You will work closely with patients to conduct sleep studies and provide essential data for the evaluation and treatment of sleep-related conditions.
Duties
- Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess sleep disorders
- Monitor vital signs and physiological parameters during sleep studies
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology in practice
- Set up and calibrate polysomnography equipment in a sleep center
- Assist with physical examinations related to sleep medicine
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as respiratory therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- Certification as a Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT or RPSGT)
- Proficiency in conducting and analyzing sleep studies
- Strong understanding of respiratory therapy principles
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience working in a sleep center or related medical facility is preferred
