What are the responsibilities and job description for the Catered Care Housekeeping Care Giver Attendant position at John Knox Manor Inc?
John Knox Retirement Tower is looking for a Catered Care Attendant to join our team. This team member will oversee the Catered Living department. The right candidate will check on residents during morning rounds and return daily to clean, sanitize, and maintain their apartments. This is a full time position Monday - Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM
The ideal person for this position has experience, enjoys working with elderly persons is well-spoken, energetic, and personable. Must be able to work under the direction of lead housekeeper and Maintenance Director. We're looking for a self motivated individual able to work with others and independently.
Responsibilities:
- Clean – Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the assigned property. Clean and disinfect of resident apartments including bathrooms, kitchen, and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans. Wipe and dust surfaces in rooms and clean mirrors. Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes. Remove and replace linens, bedspreads, and blankets.
- Other – Daily wellness checks performed for Catered Living residents, empty trash containers, wash dishes ad make beds. Deliver lunch meals on request. Assist in other areas as needed. If applicable, notify maintenance if something is not working correctly.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in housekeeping and eldercare preferred
- Detail-oriented, confidential, and professional
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and reach, bend, lift and pull
- Patient and kind demeanor under sometimes trying conditions
