Job Summary: Properly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, glassware, utensils and pots. Responsible for maintaining the dish room area, floors and the dish machine in a clean and sanitary condition. Assists with the cleaning of other areas of the restaurant as requested.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Operates dish machines to company and manufacturer specifications.
- Uses proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine and the pot washing sinks.
- Adds salt to the water softener as needed.
- Restocks all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Removes garbage, cardboard boxes, cleans and sanitizes garbage cans as needed.
- Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes the dish machine at the end of a shift.
- Keeps dish and other storage areas clean and organized.
- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef or Sous Chef
Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements:
- The individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds
on a regular basis. - Physical requirements may include frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift, stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and smell. Vision abilities may require close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
