Requirements: Physical Therapy License
Job Summary: Provides direction to physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology and support staff. In addition to providing direct treatment services in area of professional discipline, performs various management activities such as, fiscal management, productivity/efficiency, and program development/evaluation, compliance with company policies and procedures and promotion of customer service.
Core Competencies / Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and facility regulations regarding therapy services, including Medicare standards, by conducting regular audits and monitoring documentation practices.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that address the clinical needs of patients, ensuring appropriate therapy disciplines, frequency, and duration are provided in accordance with PDGM levels.
Facilitate effective communication among the therapy team, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, particularly regarding discharge planning and transitional care. Participate in Utilization Review meetings to discuss goals and barriers to discharge planning from a therapy perspective.
Oversee and ensure that all therapy documentation is timely, accurate, and compliant with Medicare standards, including the completion of MDS assessments and clarification orders.
Provide ongoing training and support to therapy staff and restorative aides, ensuring they understand therapy protocols and documentation requirements, and promoting professional growth.
Maintain the therapy department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources while meeting the therapy needs of the patient population.
Lead quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the therapy department, analyzing outcomes and implementing strategies to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
Oversee the timely completion of patient screenings and assessments, ensuring that therapy services are tailored to meet evolving clinical needs and goals.
Actively participate in Utilization Review meetings, providing insights on therapy-related goals, progress, and barriers to discharge planning from a therapy perspective.
