As Safety Manager for Lowery, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures on different petro-chemical plant sites. You will work closely with project managers, supervisors, and workers to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety across the job site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Safety Plans: Create and oversee site-specific safety plans and ensure they comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Be Available to Employees: Work daily with employees to assist them with navigating their position in a safe and efficient manner. Communicate regularly with the Human Resources department at Lowery and help foster open communication between the office and the field.
  • Conduct Safety Audits: Perform regular safety inspections and audits on-site to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Training and Education: Provide safety training and orientation to new hires and ongoing education for existing employees on safety practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of any accidents, near-misses, or safety incidents on-site, and develop reports with recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all employees and site activities comply with OSHA and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure site readiness.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, safety meeting minutes, and training logs.
  • Promote Safety Culture: Act as a safety advocate on-site, promoting a proactive safety culture and encouraging all employees to take ownership of safety.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the oil, chemical, and gas industry. This job is independent – need to be comfortable with not having constant supervision.
  • Education: Degree preferred. Without degree, preferred more than 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and best practices in industrial construction safety.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions. Able to efficiently use a computer and computer programs.
  • Certifications: COSS Certification, CPR Certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certifications, or equivalent safety credentials are preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and climb for extended periods on a construction site.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 hours per week, minimum.
