What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal/Client Services Director position at John M. Crane, P.C.?
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. Would you love to help families in our community do the right thing for the people they love? Have you worked in title insurance, handled real estate closings or helped clients with estate planning or business sales? Are you self-motivated, easy to get along with, and detail oriented? If so, you might be the key team member we are seeking.
We are a family oriented entrepreneurial law firm with a mission of making the lives of individuals, families and small business owners better and less-stressful. We believe in being proactive and believe we have systems to plan for accidents, incapacity, and death in ways that most law firms ignore. Notice, we said "family oriented". We do not do divorce or child custody. Rather, we help you plan for your children so that they never end up in foster care or with CPS because the family (and attorney) never considered what would happen if.
Likewise, for our real estate clients we often "handle everything" and our clients don't even show up at the closing. We try to anticipate and prevent problems before they occur so that clients enjoy the purchase or sale of a property. We also plan when someone says "I'm buying a business". We plan for businesses to pass to the children in the distant future, or perhaps for businesses to break up, but our planning doesn't pretend that life is constantly happy. We know things happen, so we plan when everyone is friendly and not fighting, so that they could more efficiently and quickly go their separate ways if something happens- without spending tens of thousands in litigation fees and years in court.
This is an opportunity for a real estate paralegal, or back of house title insurance person, or estate planning paralegal to learn other areas and act as our Client Services Director to become part of our team for the long-term. We are two attorneys right now, but looking to add key people for planned growth.
How long term? We are contemplating a salary, plus profit sharing, plus ownership in our sister title company with zero investment from you!
This is a full-time, position with a lot of room to grow, as we are just in the process of establishing our systems, and will need you to take the lead on implementation and execution on our behalf, using the technology and training we’ve invested in to support you.
Our office is located in Port Chester, NY. As we are sometimes busy with end of month, or last-minute requests, someone with the flexibility to work a few evenings per month, or perhaps a Saturday or two is preferable.
If you have at least 3 years experience in any area mentioned, and you know Microsoft, Lawmatics, Leap, Easy Soft, and TrackerPro, and have a car and notary stamp, congratulations you are the perfect candidate. A great candidate would be willing to learn and possess familiarity in at least one of these areas. But if you have at least one year of experience and willing to go above and beyond, we will consider you as well. Salary depends on experience, and as mentioned, ideally, we would want someone to be involved in everything, which would mean co-ownership of a title insurance agency.
