St. Anthony School is seeking a part-time, Middle School Math Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. The desired applicant will be able to provide engaging instruction, possess a high level of content mastery, can collaborate well with colleagues, and can inspire students to be lifelong learners.
Ministerial Character:
The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (the Diocese) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The teacher will form the whole child-spiritually, intellectually, socially, morally, and physically in a Christ-centered environment. The teacher will be able to provide engaging instruction, possess a high level of content knowledge and model all to achieve success. Effective classroom management is essential.
- As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Continuous growth in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
- Develops in the students a knowledge of Catholic doctrine/tradition
- Provides service ministry opportunities
- The teacher encourages and supports students to achieve maximum potential in spiritual and academic growth
- The teacher maintains a sound disciplinary program that provides direction and positive attitudes
- The teacher maintains a functional, organized, and positive classroom which maximizes learning
- The teacher shows evidence of planning and preparing for classroom instruction
- The teacher utilizes a variety of teaching strategies in the delivery of instruction
- The teacher evaluates student learning
- The teacher exhibits knowledge of subject matter(s)

Minimum requirements include:
- A Bachelor's degree in content area taught
- Bachelor's degree with 18 credit hours in content area taught will be accepted
- Bachelor's degree with completion of appropriate state certification exam will be accepted
- 12 Credit hours in education courses or a valid appropriate state certification
- Prior teaching experience preferred
Additional requirements:
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
- Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
- Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures
