You, our CNC Waterjet Operator, are an experienced and meticulous machinist working to create beautiful, complex parts off our state-of-the-art CNC machines. As part of the Metal Department, the CNC Waterjet Operator supports all departmental initiatives to hit production goals and deadlines. The CNC Machine Operator will also collaborate with the Engineering Department in our continuous improvement initiatives, i.e. more efficient set ups, run quantities, etc.

Responsibilities:
· Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
· Ensure productions rates are met or exceeded.
· Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to insure quality of productions. Reports all machine malfunctions to Management.
· Communicates with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
· Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
· Suggest and implement improvements.
· Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
· May perform other duties as assigned by management.
· Conform to the company’s culture of quality, service and continuous improvement, while taking personal responsibility for your own actions and treating fellow employees, customers and vendors respectfully and ethically
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a waterjet operator, CNC router, or CNC lathe and mill
- Knowledge of HAAS controllers is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Computer savvy with understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM a plus
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Good communication abilities
- Ability to operate 2 or more machines at the same time
Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred; some experience in a shop environment preferred. Some experience in a 3-axis machine preferred but not required. Must possess basic math skills and have good communication skills both verbally and written. Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds occasionally as needed by project requirements.
