John's Auto Care is a fast-growing, independent auto repair shop in Boulder with a great reputation for customer and employee care and are hiring for the position of Service Advisor Assistant.
The Service Advisor is the liaison between the technician and the customer and will be good at building relationships with both. The Service Advisor ASSISTANT will fully assist our Service Advisor learning to perform all functions of the job. The right person will learn and excel at all functions of the position and become a full-fledged Service Advisor at our shop in about a year.
This position offers great potential for growth and advancement and we are willing to train the right person.
What does a Service Advisor Do? Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Experience in the automotive industry along with a proven record in sales and/or customer service starts at the higher end.

What does a Service Advisor Do? Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greet every customer that enters our shop with hospitality and respect
- Present service or repairs to customers based on their needs, goals and desires in a way that is easy for them to understand
- Maintain sales goals without jeopardizing honesty and integrity
- Manage the shop’s workflow in an effective and efficient manner
- Keep customers informed throughout the day about the status of their repair
- Build estimates
- Check customers out and pre-schedule their next service
- Work with our marketing management software to follow up with customers
- Maintain a positive attitude and team atmosphere at all times
- Communicate on the phone in a clear professional manner
- Build long-term relationships with the customers and technicians
- Shuttle customers
- Work together as a team and assist other employees as needed
- Additional duties may be necessary based on the needs of the business such as, cleaning the bathroom, picking up a part, or any other task that can be safely completed
- Must possess a valid US Driver's License, be insurable on our insurance policy, and possess the ability to drive a vehicle with passengers.
- The ideal candidate will be outgoing and have great people skills.
- Ideally you will have at least 1 year experience in any sales or customer service role or demonstrate an ability to sell.
- Knowledge of auto/truck maintenance and repair issues
- Must be able to work and complete work tasks in a timely fashion in an environment with constant distractions and interruptions.
- Skilled in basic computer functions/programs such as: word processing, spreadsheets, email usage, calendar management, project management software, etc.
- Must be able to communicate in English fluently, both in verbal and in written form. This includes the use of a telephone.
- Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
