John Thornton Chevrolet is seeking a Full-time Service Porter to make sure vehicle flow is running smoothly in our fast-paced dealership. Responsibilities – Service Porter:
- Cleans the service and Advisor areas.
- Wash all windows, glass doors and glass panels throughout the service area.
- Mops and cleans service area, office, technicians' locker room, and shop bathrooms.
- Sweep and mop technician stalls, service department floors as needed but at least once weekly.
- Empty Technician’s trash receptacles daily.
- Keep the main aisle of the shop clean.
- Clean bathrooms twice daily and restock paper supplies as needed.
- Dispose of scrap parts from the shop and warranty scrap parts.
- Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing debris as necessary.
- Take scrap metal to the scrap metal recycle bin.
- Washes shop truck, inside and out.
- Keep the area around dumpsters always clean and free of debris.
- Empty and cleans all trash receptacles, inside and outside.
- Removes all debris from lot.
- Keep smoke pots emptied.
- Check the detail shop daily for trash removal.
- Drain and dispose of used oil filters properly.
- Empty waste oil caddies daily.
- Place used tires in scrap tire cage.
- Removes any old scrap parts from shop after checking with shop foreman or technician.
- Returns all cores to parts department.
- Assists technicians with oil and water spills.
- Understand and comply with OSHA Right-to-Know and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Use proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection.
Requirements - Service Porter:
- Must be friendly and courteous and able to work with others
- Must have Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Positive attitude and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to work outdoors and be physically active for extended periods of time
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic vehicles
- Must be able to keep up with a fast-paced environment
