What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Tech position at John Wood Group?
- Read and understand P&IDs / instrumentation loop drawings / C&E
- Understand process control and how to tune PID loops
- Configuration and troubleshooting of Modbus communications
- Perform scheduled ESD / LEL / H2S testing and calibration
- Programming and troubleshooting of the following
- Ability to troubleshoot wiring with multimeters
- PLC (I.e. Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eaton, etc.)
- RTU (I.e. ROC, FB107, Total Flow, etc.)
- HMI (I.e. Red Lion, Maple, Beier, etc.)
- Edge computers and software (I.e. Ignition, On-Logic, Moxa, etc.)
- Serial to Ethernet converters (I.e. Moxa, Phoenix, Red Lion, etc.)
- Various instrumentation (Pressure Transmitters, Flow Meters, Temperature Transmitters, Level Transmitters, Level Switches, etc.)
- Demonstrate the ability to Learn, be safe and communicate
- Have basic mechanical, electrical, and computer skills
- Must demonstrate work ethics that align with core values
- Team oriented, unsupervised time management
- Safety first work approach
- Ability to handle basic discipline tasks
- Ability to learn and navigate software/application platforms
