Wood is currently recruiting for a Civil & Structural Designer with experience in the chemical manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for design work supporting small facility based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of the Bishop Texas capital project’s group.

- Read and fully understand all documents which describe the scope of work to be done
- Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs
- Plot Plans
- Structural Plans & Elevations
- Vendor Drawings
- Provide Civil & Structural designs for capital and maintenance projects on schedule
- Perform field work & as-builts in industrial environments
- Responsible for tracking and complying with scopes, schedules and budgets.
- Design and drafting of civil/structural drawings and deliverable documents
- Structural Steel
- Concrete foundations & Paving
- Assist Project Managers with estimating
- Field Support during construction
- Check accuracy and quality of drawings developed by others as needed
- 3-6 years industrial experience working in the design field
- Chemical Manufacturing or Related Industry Experience is required
- Good Communication / presentation skills
- Experience with design of mechanical and electrical equipment in industrial facilities
- Equipment Placement
- Drawings Verification – Updates for “As-Builts”
- Experience with scanning & data registration is a plus
- Understand how work/information flows between disciplines.
- Field Design Experience
- Able to wear required PPE
- Operate Vehicles safely to job-site

- Able to use Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency in MicroStation is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook
