What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Tech Supervisor position at John Wood Group?
- Supervise, train, and mentor crew members / schedule work
- Maintain maintenance records and locations of compression units
- Have the ability to assist personnel with troubleshooting via phone
- Maintain a clean and organized shop / work environment
- Acquire quotes and follow procedures for approval and purchase through Wood supply chain
- Source and maintain parts and shop supplies associated with refurbishing compression pumps
- Organize and schedule repair and/or replacement of compression units
- Have the ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment in order to set and determine close tolerances
- Evaluate economics of compressor units vs. gas volumes
- In field troubleshooting of compressor units for oxygen leaks, and other mechanical issues
- Size new units based on location, pressures, and volumes
- Update and refurbish compression units pulled from the field so they can be repurposed
- Have the ability to rebuild, repair, and troubleshoot the following both in the shop and field:
- Compression pumps ranging from 15HP to 200HP
- Leroi and Quincy screws
- Travaini liquid rings
- ANSI standard water pumps ranging from 20HP to 150HP
- Electric motors associated with compression and water pumps
