We are seeking a skilled Wireman to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work and be proficient in reading blueprints and schematics. As a Wireman, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various settings, including construction sites. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine installation requirements.
- Install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and voltmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Perform frame carpentry tasks as needed for electrical installations.
- Collaborate with industrial electricians and other trades on construction sites to ensure project completion.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Wireman or in a similar role within the electrical field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and electrical testing equipment (ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter).
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation effectively.
- Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety standards in the industry.
- Experience working on construction sites is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
