Position Summary:

The Sales Support Specialist aligns in true partnership with one or more Territory Sales Representatives to enhance commercial customer support and increase sales. The Sales Support Specialist develops and fosters relationships with their contacts within the grower's organization. Provides backup for the Sales Representatives when they are traveling to trade shows, farm visits, or other times out of the office

Responsibilities:

• Educate our customers about our products and services to improve related sales and customer satisfaction.
• An expert in customer service with a "customer first" approach.
• Maintain grower information in the areas of discounts, special pricing, etc.

• Sales and goals oriented, awareness of monthly, quarterly, and annual volume plans and constantly striving to achieve sales to meet those goals.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls both by phone and email.
• Sell and write orders for JSS products and services
• Expedite orders (when necessary), Review rejected orders and take steps to clear them. Research back-orders and follow up with customers.
• Communicate daily with Reps.
• Maintain product and technical knowledge needed to perform the job by participating in educational meetings, national sales meetings, crops walks, annual pricing projects and catalog reviews.
• Assist in identifying customers in the territories with duplicate customer numbers and in de-duplication

Education:

• College degree or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Vegetable, herb, or flower growing/farming experience.
• Sense of urgency, aggressive follow through, and sense of ownership for the territories.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Clear and succinct written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact with multiple personalities and multiple functional areas.
• Team player with the ability to work towards a common goal - gives more than takes.
• Composed under fast-paced pressure situations/relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit at a computer at least 95% of the workday.
• Ability to read, count, and write to complete all documentation accurately.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
