POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Patient Safety, with latitude for independent initiative and judgement, the RN Patient Safety Specialist I supports the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating patient safety risks while fostering a culture of safety across the organization. The Patient Safety Specialist must develop strong, professional relationships with members of the interdisciplinary care team and collaborate with staff to facilitate the successful integration of patient safety principles into current and future practice.
Work Location: St. Petersburg, FL
Work Hours: M-F (8a-4:30p)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in business, nursing or healthcare related field (or in the process of obtaining Master’s degree) with a BSN in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse
- 5 years clinical experience in a pediatric acute-care setting
- Knowledge of patient safety, principles of High Reliability Organizations, and Just Culture
- Prioritize in an ever-changing environment
- Excellent and effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Establish facilitation, teaching, presentation prioritization and organizational skills
- Knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office Suite
Salary Range: Minimum 37.22 per hour - Maximum 57.70 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
