- Work requires six months of previous experience as a PCT, patient aide or geriatric nursing assistant or currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed basic technician training in nursing. Acute Float Pool Department requires a minimum of two years related work experience.
- Requires certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant or higher recognized nursing license. Annual certification in CPR is also required. Also must be a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant if working in long-term care (JHGC).
- Work requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situation in which the information or problems are relatively routine.
- Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matter, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center policies and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.
