What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Researcher position at Johns Hopkins Center for Drug Safety and Effectiveness?
Program Overview
The Center for Drug Safety and Effectiveness at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH) is partnering with Sanofi to train post-doctoral fellows. These two organizations have come together to provide research fellows with the experiences and opportunities to advance their training in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance and to apply these skills to the study of products under development or marketed by Sanofi, all in accordance with applicable safety laws, health agency regulations, and university and company policies.
Role Description
Fellows will split their time evenly between learning opportunities at BSPH and at Sanofi. The position will focus on pharmacoepidemiology, specifically application of methodologies and study designs suitable for assessing utilization, safety, and effectiveness of medications relevant to the Sanofi portfolio. Fellows will have the opportunity to advance their skills in pharmacoepidemiology, and to learn quantitative methods relating to signal detection and risk management. Fellows will conduct mentored research for practical application of novel methodologies and will be expected to work within a team to conduct studies, publish, and present findings to a wide variety of stakeholders. While engaged at BSPH, fellows will join ongoing research projects, develop their own research portfolio, and receive mentorship from JHU faculty members. Fellows will also have the opportunity for limited course work for advanced methods training.
The postdoctoral position is 12 months long and may be renewed for one additional year with an annual compensation ranging from ~$62K to $75K, depending on experience. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to start immediately, or as soon as possible, based on mutual agreement. During a portion of the year, we recommend that fellows work onsite at BSPH in Baltimore, Maryland. While working on Sanofi projects, fellows have the option of being 100% remote or hybrid with time in Bridgewater, NJ.
