POSITION PURPOSE
Directly reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the AVP Product Strategy and Development is responsible for all aspects of strategic planning for consumer loans, deposit products and services. Leveraging a team of product professionals, this position will work collaboratively to drive member behavior through technology, member experience, pricing, and promotional campaigns.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. SERVICE
• Assumes responsibility for supporting, demonstrating, and promoting the Credit Union SERVICE culture. Support, Educate, Respect, Value, Innovate, Communicate, Empower. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to the Credit Union’s principles of equity and belonging, by modeling inclusive behaviors, proactively managing bias and supporting JHFCU’s diverse employee base and membership.
2. Functional
• Develops a framework for identifying and reviewing new and existing products/services to ensure they meet performance expectations that align with the organization’s growth goals. This includes understanding consumer behavior, market and competitor research, and feedback.
• Maintains responsibility for ensuring product and service resources are adequate to support member engagement. This includes everything that touches the member from technology to staff training.
• Ensures the team is adequately prepared to leverage analytical tools and partners with the Financial and Management reporting team to deliver product analysis.
• Manage and drive the utilization of data to measure the effectiveness of product/service promotions. Assists with the development and implementation of tracking mechanisms.
• Coordinate and lead several committees that drive member growth, deposits, and lending.
• Maintains a strong working knowledge of general product compliance and works collaboratively with Risk and Compliance to navigate the complex regulatory landscape.
• Manage the product and service journey to ensure new products and enhancements are in line with corporate goals and member expectations.
• Collaborate and at times manage projects in the coordination of evaluation, testing, and enhancement of new and existing technology solutions.
• Participates in advisory groups to drive credit union needs and objectives.
• Prepare and deliver concise, compelling verbal presentations to executives and the board of directors and respond quickly and thoughtfully to being challenged in meeting situations.
• Serve as a key partner to other business units on marketing and product initiatives to support products/services, positioning, and specific program tactics.
3. Leadership
• Promotes and maintains a commitment to our management system including regular touch points, coaching, and ongoing action planning.
• Prioritize team engagement through the development of trust, effective communication, providing timely feedback, and ensuring accountability for goals, projects, and operations.
• Promote and engage in ongoing product development to continue evolution and identify new ways to achieve organizational objectives.
• Develop, collaborate, and provide oversight for budget and planning activities.
• Develop ongoing reporting for management and board.

4. Other Duties
• This position is eligible for remote work. The ability to work a hybrid/remote position is based on work performance and ability to create and maintain engaging work relationships. The primary reason for any remote work is to support the credit union’s business continuity efforts.
• Remains compliant with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to BSA and the USA Patriot Act.
• Maintain a productive relationship with the Supervisory Committee, Examiners, Auditors, and the internal audit function.
• Ensures compliance with Credit Union policy and standards and makes recommendations as needed.
• Responsible for any additional duties and or responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of eight years progressive leadership and product experience in the banking or complimentary industry. Fluency with storytelling, reporting and analytical tools.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

establish facts and draw conclusions. Able to interpret a variety of technical
instructions and can deal with multiple variables.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math skills and interpret personal finance concepts
utilizing ratios and percents.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and
encyclopedias. Ability to prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and
reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation,
grammar, diction, and style. Ability to conduct training, communicate at panel
discussions, and make professional presentations. sentences; using normal word
order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.
