Babies who need specialized attention because of premature birth or medical conditions are cared for in our state-of-the-art Level III Lundy Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our NICU has sophisticated equipment specially designed to care for critically- ill newborns in an environment that fosters healthy development. NICU patients benefit from the continuous care and observation of Johns Hopkins’ neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses who are experienced with the special needs of newborn premature babies. Howard County General Hospital is a private, not-for-profit, community health care provider, governed by a community-based board of trustees. Opened in 1973, the original 59-bed, short-stay hospital has grown into a comprehensive acute care medical center with 226 licensed beds, specializing in women’s and children’s services, surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gerontology, psychiatry, emergency services and community health education. Qualifications:
- BSN is preferred. Associate degree RNs will be required to matriculate within 4 years of hire.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience required
- Previous NICU experience strongly preferred
- Current Maryland RN license or other compact state license that allows practice in Maryland
- CPR required
- Must be able to pass all hospital competencies required for the position including but not limited to the following: ACLS, PALS, NRP
Salary Range: Minimum 33.02 per hour - Maximum 52.68 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
