Position Overview: This is for a pediatric cardiology role that would cover both inpt and outpt.
Location: Pediatric Cardiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD
Schedule: 40 hours a week

Responsibilities

- Assist in coping with the challenges of caring for a child, managing their illness, hospitalization or outpatient treatment plan
- Support families (children, parents, grandparents, siblings) encountering a crisis, experiencing grief and bereavement or adjusting to a diagnosis
- Help the family and child gain a better understanding of the illness and what to expect while receiving treatment
- Discuss illness and/or hospitalization with the child and their family
- Advocate for the needs of the child and family with the medical team (doctors, nurses, therapists) to promote family-centered care
- Develop pre- and posthospitalization care plans
- Promote a safe family environment
- Refer to community agencies for material assistance, including temporary lodging or resources needed to support a safe discharge plan
Qualifications
- MS Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
- Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW or LCSW-C level.
- Must have Epic Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Experience with Hospital and Pediatrics experience required.
